After experimenting with socks on my bunny Gracie, to help releive her sore hocks, I decided to make her a pair that were super soft and have extra padding. Well Minkie fabric was just what the job called for, so here you are Tinkie Minkie Bunny socks!!

Tinkie Minkie Bunny Socks

~Medium Tinkie Minkie Socks/Booties ~ fit a medium sized rabbit around 5 pounds, but measure your bunny’s foot heel to toe.  These are 3 1/2 inches from heel to toe

Instructions: Slide the socks over your bunny’s foot making sure the hock fits into the padded heel area. Use some medical tape or vet wrap to wrap around the top of the sock above the bunny’s ankle, make it tight enough keep the sock from being pulled off, but not too tight to impeed cirulation. Bunnies that have never worn socks before should be monitored closely and the socks should be checked to make sure they are not too tight. Some bunnies not tolerate wearing socks and will chew at them to get them off, I found it helpful to get Gracie used to hers by having shorter sessions wearing them under supervision until she became more comfortable. She is not one of the buns that will wear them all day, but because of her sore hocks, I like her to wear socks when we take her outside, this pads and protects her bare hocks.

Washing instructions~ Wash in cold water and dry on low heat.

I’ve used the white dot Minky fabric to make this cuddily bunny soft scarf. Its 5″ wide and 66″ long with a 1″ satin fringe.

Its machine washable in cold and you can dry in on low heat in the dryer.

Well as usual its a journey of learning with the bunnies. My oldest girl Gracie is going to be 9 in the new year and now that Trinket is gone, naturally its her turn to need some attention. She has just developed sore hocks so we have been trying to find way to make her more comfortable and pampered so they some healing can begin.

Now Gracie is the cranky self reliant type and doesn’t take to too much loving or pampering. I did put down super plush faux lambskin all throughout her hutch, which she ferociously chewed apart the first week, but she is finally enjoying now. We tried wrapping her hocks with a wad of felted bunny fur cushioning her hocks, but she wouldn’t wear them for more than a few hours. Then I tried putting ointment on her hocks and putting socks over her feet as well, but those too were chewed off. Now we are on to moleskin patches and so far she is leaving them on so we’ll see how it goes.

Now in my quest to bring pampering to my cranky girl I have discovered this amazing fabric, Minky! Wow, so super soft and silky I knew I just had to make some blanket and maybe some socks for Gracie to see if she would tolerate this newest luxury.

Well you have to know it wasn’t long before I came up with the idea of Tinkie Minkies in honor of Trinket, as she is my muse. Too bad I hadn’t discovered this stuff when she was still alive, I know she would have loved the socks to keep her warm and sure would have loved the hours of cuddles in the blanket with me.

So here are my first creations with the Minky fabric, I have donated several pieces to the Bunnies in Need Group at Bunspace so hopefully they will help raise some good funds to help out some needy buns. For now I’ve got to concentrate on helping my needy buns as now its seems Gracie is going to require some ongoing vet care. Dr Deb doesn’t know it yet, but Gracie is her next bunny patient

Storage~ These cookies are baked at a lower heat to completely dry them out, this makes them crunchy, giving lots of chewing pleasure for your bun. I keep mine in a plastic bag and they last for weeks, mind you the buns eat them up pretty quick too. So Keep them in an air tight container.

Gracie's big day

Well Kiddies, Here is another Tinkie Couture beauty!! Gracie here looks absolutely radiant in this cute little wedding dress. she’d also make an adorable flower bun, but she might eat the flowers! LOL

This dress is made wih Satin, ribbon and toole. It velcros under the chin and under the belly. Gracie is 5 pounds and it fit slightly large on her, it will decently fit a bun up to 6 pounds, but will look best of a bun that is long in the body

Perfectly Pretty

Mom recommends only spot cleaning this dress, the toole skirt easily cleans up by holding under running water adn then shaking out.

Red Holly Hobby Hat without chin ties

Here is another Holly Hobby inspired hat. This is a smaller hat ideal size for dwarf bunnies and medium sized buns like our 5 lb Gracie.

~Open at the top to let the ears peak out, lop bunnies would require elastic loops to go over their ears, if you require this modification, just add a request in the comment section of the paypal processing. I can also add an elastic for for under the chin for an uppy eared bun if you’d like, again add this request in the comment section of  the paypal.

This hat is red yarn with a burgandy frilly rim. It is topped with Red fuzzies. This is Diva all the way!!

~This larger hat fits a medium to larger sized bun. Again our Model Gracie is 5 pounds. It ties on under the chin or can be left untied.

Although ideal for an uppy eared bun, there is ample room for a lop earred bun to have thier ears lop out over the top, or because it ties under the chin, a lops ears can sit natural and the hat can be tied sitting over and infront of thier ears. Sorry we lack a lop earred model at our house

Mini Red Glitter Hat with Fluzzy Flower

Here is the cutest little hat. Its crocheted with a red glittery yarn and topped with red fuzzies and an orange fuzzy flower. It is open on the to allow the ears to peak out.

Ideally designed for an uppy earred bun, a loppy eared bun can wear this hat if they don’t mind their ears sticking straight up imitating an upper earred bun!

This little number will fit the tiniest of dwarf buns and looks cute as a mini hat on a medium sized bun as well. Our model Gracie is 5 pounds, I wouldn’t go much bigger than her for this hat though.
