About My Bunnies
Having no children of my own and not planning to have any in the future, my rabbits are my babies. Right now my biggest focus in my sweet Trinket. She just turned 7 this Jan and for the last year and half we have been battling with her health. What started out as a recurrent bladder infection which eventually spread to her kidneys, ended up being E.Cuniculi. For months we attempted to treat her bladder infections with the guidance of our amazing vet, but it appeared we were going to loose the battle with her kidneys. One kidney was all shriveled and the other was huge while producing urine so clear we were ready for her kidneys to fail her completely. A reflexologist friend of mine recommended I try a homeopathic remedy. After talking with my vet we went ahead. I was told by my vet that he felt it wouldn’t do anything for her, but it wouldn’t hurt either. So after a few weeks on Natrum Muriaticum we had her blood tested and her kidney level showed normal function, we then proceeded to begin our treatment of the E. Cuniculi.
Shortly after beginning her treatment she began having partial paralysis in her hind end. For almost a year we sought acupuncture from a holistic vet, this restored her mobility until finally in October of 2008 we had to resort to getting her a wheel chair cart. Now she is permanently disabled but she doesn’t let that stop her!! Check her out on Bunspace.com where she tells her story in her own words!!
Sadly Trinket finally surrendered her earthly body on August 8, 2009. Its not ever going to be the same without her.
Trinket was my Inspiration and still remains my Muse~ check out her blog here under the category Trinket’s blog. You can also find Tinkie’s Shoppe where many of the things that she inspired me to create like Tinkie Bling, Tinkie Couture and Tinkie’s Tasties. You’ll find cute little bunny hats, coats, dresses, tiaras and bunny cookies. Even though she is gone, I still feel she’d want me to continue with the help of Puds and Gracie.
Well There are some New Kids on the Block!!
We are pleased to announce that we have adopted two more sweeties just before Christmas. Tilly came from a rescue near Toronto. She has a persistant head tilt from being sick with an ear infection as a baby. It only makes her cuter we think! Then we also have Peaty, a sweet little lionhead girl which was dumped in a local shelter near us. She has Malocclusion of the teeth, which means they don’t naturally grind down so they continue grow into tusks. Poor thing couldn’t eat right so she just had her surgery to remove her front teeth. Now she is a cheeky girl, happily eating and binkying around the house
