Artist Notes on this Piece 

         This painting was also a re-examination of an earlier piece from college “Exploring Red” now in a private collection.  I love the contrast of  realism in this one. The petals have a lovely velvety painterly quality to them, where as the stamens of the poppy are rich and vivid in their form.

The original of this painting is now in a private collection in Toronto Ontario
